Welcome to First Baptist Church of Fannett
We’ve put together some information that anticipates and briefly answers questions you may have before visiting our church for the first time. We look forward to meeting you!
Atmosphere
It’s important to us that you feel welcome when visiting. We hope our atmosphere helps you feel relaxed and comfortable. The music and worship are built around timeless Biblical themes. We are glad to have you join us in worship, you will be greeted and welcomed with joy.
Scripture: “Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” Romans 15:7 (ESV)
We welcome others not just out of friendliness, but because Christ welcomed us first. Our heart is to reflect His love in everything we do.
Family Friendly
No matter your family dynamics, you're welcome at First Baptist Church of Fannett! We're excited for you to consider being part of our church family. Our intent is to serve the whole family. During our worship service, we offer care for infants and children. Your children will receive meaningful spiritual training from a team of caring and committed leaders.
Scripture: “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God.” Luke 18:16 (ESV)
Jesus valued children and welcomed them freely. We do the same by creating safe and joyful environments where your kids can learn about Him.
- Children in Worship
All children are welcome to remain in the worship service with their family. We are a family-integrated church, which means parents and children worship together in the main service. Instead of dismissing children and youth to separate ministries during this time, we encourage families to stay together for the entire worship experience.
Nursery care is available for infants through preschoolers throughout the service if needed.
Partway through the service, children are invited to the front for a special Children’s Sermon. Afterward, 4- and 5-year-olds may attend Children’s Church, while older kids return to their families for the remainder of the service.
We love having children in worship and believe they are a vital part of our church family.
Please check in children attending Children’s Church or nursery at the Kids Ministry Check-In Station before the service begins.
Scripture: “Assemble the people—men, women, and little ones... that they may hear and learn to fear the Lord your God.” Deuteronomy 31:12 (ESV)
Scripture shows us that children were included in gatherings of worship. We believe their presence honors God and blesses our church community.
Sermon
From the pulpit, you will hear sound expository preaching—where each sermon is centered on the meaning and message of a specific passage of Scripture. Our pastors aim to rightly handle the Word of God, explaining it clearly and applying it faithfully to our lives.
Scripture:
“Preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.” 2 Timothy 4:2 (ESV)
God’s Word is powerful, sufficient, and timeless. Through verse-by-verse teaching, we grow in our knowledge of God, deepen our faith, and learn how to live in obedience to Him. In a culture full of noise and opinions, expository preaching helps us stay rooted in biblical truth. It's not just information, it’s formation, shaping our hearts and lives according to God's design.
Whether you're new to the Bible or a lifelong believer, you’ll find that the consistent teaching of Scripture brings clarity, conviction, and encouragement.
Biblical Teaching
At First Baptist Church of Fannett, we place a high priority on the teaching of God's Word. Sunday worship is a time for us to come together to learn, grow, and be transformed by Scripture.
Beyond Sundays, we offer opportunities for discipleship, community, and spiritual growth as we seek to live out our faith together.
Scripture: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness...” 2 Timothy 3:16 (ESV)
The Bible is our final authority. Whether on Sundays or in small groups, everything we teach is rooted in Scripture and aimed at making disciples of Jesus.
Mission Statement: Making Disciples As We Go
At First Baptist Church of Fannett, our mission is simple yet profound: Making disciples as we go. This means that every follower of Jesus is called not only to grow personally in their faith but to actively share the Gospel and help others grow as well, wherever life takes them.
Scripture:
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them... teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19–20 (ESV)
Jesus’ final command to His followers was not just to believe, but to make disciples, to guide others into a lifelong journey of following Christ. Discipleship happens in everyday life: at home, work, school, and community. It’s about living out the Gospel authentically and inviting others to do the same.
“As we go” captures the active, ongoing nature of disciple-making. It’s not confined to church walls or special programs but is a natural rhythm of life for every believer. We are a community that encourages and equips one another to share faith, love others, and grow in obedience daily.
Our goal is a church where discipleship is multiplied, where every person is both growing deeper in Christ and helping others do the same. This movement reflects the heart of Jesus and the early church, impacting our families, neighborhoods, and beyond.
