First Baptist Church of Fannett Leadership & Staff
Our church is an elder-led, deacon-served, and congregational voting church. We desire to be faithful to the biblical definition of how a church should function under the lordship of Christ. Christ gave the leadership structure (1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and 1 Peter) for the strength and health of the church through overseeing, discipling, shepherding, and serving the congregation.
Ben Moore
Pastor / Elder
Ben Moore serves as the pastor of First Baptist Church of Fannett. He is married to his wife, Georgetta, and together they have two children. Before entering pastoral ministry, Ben served in the United States Army as an infantry soldier, including one tour in Afghanistan.
Ben received his Master’s degree in Biblical Studies from Reformed Theological Seminary. He holds to the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689, which together reflect his commitment to the authority of Scripture, the doctrines of grace, and the biblical faith confessed by historic Baptists.
Ben is also a committed abolitionist who believes that every human being is made in the image of God and therefore possesses inherent dignity and value from the moment of conception. He has been actively involved in the effort to end abortion, including lobbying for Texas House Bills that would have made abortion illegal in the state.
As a pastor, Ben is eager to pursue the Great Commission by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and equipping the church to faithfully obey everything Christ has commanded. He desires to see the gospel permeate every area of life and believes that Christ is Lord not merely of our Sunday worship, but of our families, churches, communities, vocations, and nations.
Ben’s desire is to faithfully shepherd the church, proclaim the whole counsel of God, and see sinners saved and Christ exalted in all things.
